pacfah_logoPartnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health (PACFaH) project is a social accountability project implemented through the strategy of partnership building of indigenous CSO’s, champions and activists to ensure the government at national and state levels in Nigeria fulfill commitments to child and family health. The project which commenced in 2014 mobilizes committed Civil Society Organizations (CBO’s); Faith based Organizations (FBO’s); professional associations; and Community Based Organizations (CBO’s)  along with the media and individual champions to work together to promote Governments responsiveness on policies, budgets and administration in child and family health.

Public sector Capacity building and Technical Assistance

oo2The dRPC holds that sustainable social change requires capacity building, orientation and awareness creation amongst public sector decision makers and implementers to understand their role in a participatory development process. Most dRPC interventions, allocate almost 50% of resources to building capacity through study tours and training for public sector functionaries. To do so, the dRPC formed effective partnerships with the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, by signing an MOU for collaboration in 2006. The dRPC is also collaborating with the Apex public sector training organization – the Centre for Management Development. The Centre’s activities and projects in support of the public sector include:

  1. Conducted needs assessment and designed TOT workshops for 50 senior staff of the Centre for Management Development (CMD) Lagos, FCT and the National Planning Commission (NPC) MDG Bench-marking staff on Budget Tracking and Gender based Budgeting. Supported by the European Union, Support for Reforming Institution Program (EU/SRIP) 2006-2007
  2. Effective Management of Maternal Health Programs in 13 states in Northern Nigeria. 3-day workshop conducted by the Centre for Management Development and the dRPC, December 2010.
  3. Study tour on Best Practices on Maternal Health Program Management in Lagos, Ogun and Osun States for 21 senior level health administrators from 4 states in Northern Nigeria.
  4. Advisers and study design team leaders, National Centre for Non-Formal Education, Kano, Study on Non-formal education needs and gaps, Federal Ministry of Education (2000-2001)
